Initiative & Enterprise

This module on Initiative & Enterprise Management Training is part of the GroomTalent.com curriculum of critical management courses for developing leadership competencies and management talent.

Initiative Competencies- the ability to:

  • do more than is required or expected in a job
  • identify and act upon new opportunities to enhance results
  • minimize problems without needing to be asked and persisting in problem solving and seizing opportunities

Enterprise Competencies- the ability to:

  • use fresh approaches leading to radical change or significant improvements; and take time to listen to new ideas without pre-judgement
  • try new, and possibly better, in the sense of stretching beyond what has been done in the past
  • weigh the possible outcomes against values and responsibilities
  • summon resources and team to implement enterprise action plan
